Andy Roddick crashes out of Wimbledon

Posted by admin on Sunday 29 June 2008

Andy Roddick was shown the exit doors of Wimbledon by Janko Tipsarevic, a Serbian, with a 6-7, 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 loss in the second round match. This is the first time that Roddick has lost in a lesser round at the Lawn Tennis Championships. Janko put up a stupendous show of muscular tennis all through the match and matched the famed American point to point. Andy Roddick, visibly upset with this second round exit, said that he choked during the game and was not satisfied with his stroke play at all. As the first week end at Wimbledon will commence from today, there will be more fans buying tickets to grab a glimpse of their favorite tennis stars.

Gasquet won’t skip Wimbledon due to hurt knee

Posted by admin on Tuesday 27 May 2008

Richard Gasquet, French tennis extraordinaire, is certain that his move to skip the French Open is a wise one as he is doing all he can to prepare for the grand Wimbledom tournaments. Gasquet, who is also honored as France’s best tennis player as well as the eight seeded player in the world, was commended for showing true grit and determination even though he was discovered to have a cyst located in his knee.  He had earlier requested officials to postpone his match to Tuesday due to a weakening left knee but the organizers did not heed his request. Gasquet’s doctor assured everyone that he will be in top shape after they remove the cyst and treat him with cortisone.
