Venus and Serena Williams made it to the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Tournament! So did Radwanska, Dementieva, Azarenka and Sabine Lisicki. It remains to be seen in the next hour or two is Safina makes it into the Q-finals. The big surprise was in the match that Venus Williams won, because Ana Ivanovic quit near the beginning of the second set, having apparently injured her leg during the match or sometime recently. On the men’s side, only Roger Federer and Tommy Haas are in the quarterfinals at this point with several matches to be played yet today. This is a relatively typical tournament so far, with relatively few surprises. We shall see where all this ends up over the course of this week.
